I get confused and stress to find a topic for my assignment about children’s literature!!
I have to pick up an issue concerning children’s literature. But I dont know what should I do! I have done browsing, reading children’s books, trying to find something to discuss in my paper. but I think I dont find anything to do the paper.
So, if u have any idea or suggestion for what children’s book I should discuss, please tell me. I really appreciate your help.
The book “The Phantom Tollbooth” is a fantastic book to do research and/or papers on. First, it’s well known enough that there are articles on it to site. Second, it’s a very didactic book filled with information for young readers and life lessons. I did a paper on it last semester about how Juster used the book to show children that education is important.
Another intriguing book is “Belle Prater’s Boy.” That book doesn’t have quite as many articles written about it as “Tollbooth,” but it still is a wonderful book. It uses a lot of windows and doors, which are symbols of transition and shows how the children Woodrow and Gypsy are dealing with different aspects of their lives and moving from one state of mind to another.
I think the narnia chronicles by C.S. Lewis are the best for kids. Its really interesting and age appropriate unlike a lot of other children’s books. yet it teaches kids about right wrong forgiveness and other adult themes. plus you can read them at any age.
feeiing of revenge, I think would be one of the interesting topic-as we see in the Dickens”The great expectation and Anita Desai”s A village by the sea
