Author: Do you know any good mystery books written by a hispanic person?

It must have been written in the 1980’s or early 90’s. They were mystery books that featured a female lead who solved crimes and wasn’t Nancy Drew. It was written for adults. Each chapter had a art nouveau drawing. Thanks so much for any answer!
I lost the site address but I loved it. The reviews are like “She goes with him on a trip and they die in a car accident. The end”.
